Virginiamycin is a streptogramin antibiotic complex consisting of virginiamycin M1 and S1. It is effective in the treatment of vancomycin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus. In veterinary medicine, virginiamycin also has been used to promote growth in livestock.
