General information:
Flumequine is a second-generation Quinolone antibiotic and is mainly active against Gram negative bacteria. In Europe the MRLs for Flumequine in the different matrices depend on the matrix and the species from which the matrix origins. MRLs vary from 200 μg/kg (muscle) to 1500 μg/kg (kidney). The antiserum used in the ELISA is specific for Flumequine and does not cross-react with any of the other Fluoroquinolones tested. For detection of most Fluoroquinolones in one test we advise the generic Fluoroquinolones ELISAs (5101FLUQG and 5101FLUQGII).
The Flumequine ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against flumequine.
